Jeffrey Kappen is a global strategy advisor, international business scholar, and organizational leadership consultant who helpsorganizations understand complex markets, build cross-sector partnerships, and strengthen leadership capacity.
As Partner at Bâton Global, Jeffrey advises private, public, and nonprofit organizations on strategy development, leadership development, market analysis, and organizational transformation. He also directs Bâton Global’s global research practice, bringing a research-driven approach to client work across sectors including agriculture, education, energy, economic development, and international business.
Jeffrey’s advisory work is informed by international experience across emerging markets, with regional expertise in Central Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. His background includes economic development, international sales and marketing, and consulting work with public, private, and nonprofit organizations on global strategy, stakeholder engagement, and organizational change.
Concurrent with his leadership role at Bâton Global, Jeffrey is an Associate Professor of Management and International Business at Drake University. His research focuses on transnational partnerships, the influence of culture and religion on business, and diversity in organizations.
Jeffrey earned a Ph.D. in Management and Organization Studies from the University of Massachusetts, an MBA from the University of Wisconsin, and a Bachelor of Arts with honors in International Relations, French, and Russian from Beloit College.
