As part of Bâton Global’s leadership development and advisory work, Denny helps organizations develop leaders, strengthen talent pipelines, and design practical strategies that support individual and organizational growth. He partners with executives, leadership teams, and high-potential talent to identify development needs, build capabilities, and create conditions for sustained performance.
Denny spent 28 years with Principal Financial Group, with the latter half of his tenure focused on developing top talent across the organization. His work included designing leadership development strategies and programs, coaching leaders and executives, and helping create a coaching culture throughout the enterprise.
Prior to his human resources and leadership development work, Denny held leadership roles in communications, marketing, product management, and insurance operations. This broad business background informs his practical approach to coaching and leadership development.
Denny earned a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and a master’s degree from the University of Iowa. His professional credentials include Professional Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation, Board Certified Coach through the Center for Credentialing and Education, Professional in Human Resources, and certifications in change management, Crucial Conversations, and Hogan Assessment. He was also a co-recipient of the 2015 Gold Human Capital Management Excellence Award, sponsored by Brandon Hall, for Best Advance in Coaching and Mentoring.
