Lucas Novotny is a higher education executive and embedded operations leader who helps organizations align strategy, operations, people, and resources to support long-term institutional success.
Lucas brings more than 16 years of leadership experience across higher education, auxiliary services, capital planning, financial stewardship, and organizational transformation. He helps organizations strengthen operating models, implement complex initiatives, and connect operational excellence to student success.
Lucas has held senior leadership roles at public and private universities, overseeing complex portfolios that include housing, dining, student unions, residence life, conference services, facilities, communications, technology, vendor partnerships, and third-party operations.
Most recently, Lucas served as Executive Director of Housing and Dining at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he led one of the university’s largest auxiliary-services portfolios and guided strategic planning, capital investment, financial stewardship, organizational development, and integrated service delivery. Previously, he held progressive leadership roles at Creighton University, including Director and Senior Director of Housing and Auxiliary Services.
Lucas earned a Doctor of Education in Interdisciplinary Leadership and an MBA in Leadership from Creighton University, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Iowa State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Coe College. He is also a Certified Gallup CliftonStrengths Coach.
