As Budget Officer, Betsy manages billing, reporting, and treasury functions, in addition to keeping the team on time, under budget and well-fed.
Prior to moving to Des Moines and joining the Bâton team, Betsy lived and worked in Columbia, South Carolina, as a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser with the Meridian Group, Inc. She specialized in large industrial, medical office and senior aging properties with expertise in Going Concern and business valuation throughout the Southeast US.
Betsy’s passions have consistently been to create positive community impact through education, service and volunteer work. She began her career as the Business Development Officer for Workforce Advantage Academy, an innovative education startup in Orlando, Florida. As part of the leadership launch team, she worked to pair at risk high school youth with community businesses that provided students paid skilled internships. Graduates were guaranteed full-time employment and support for higher education. She continues that passion in Des Moines through her leadership at Cowles Montessori Public School - Iowa’s only public Montessori program.
Betsy earned an MBA from the Crummer Graduate School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business from Rollins College.
